Sequestering Carbon Dioxide in Trees

 
 

In Louisiana's Tensas National Wildlife Refuge, Chevron planted 450,000 trees on fallow farmlands. Over the next 70 years, the project is expected to sequester some 800,000 metric tons of CO2 and enhance the habitats of the threatened Louisiana Black Bear and several species of migratory songbirds.
