Alberta Chamber of Resources Integrated Landscape Management Program

In 2000, the Alberta Chamber of Resources (ACR), an association of resource industries, established the need for a new program to look for opportunities for industry to minimize their disturbance to the environment through improved collaboration. Peter Koning, Senior Regulatory Affairs Coordinator for then Gulf Canada Resources, was seconded to the ACR as Program Manager.

ConocoPhillips has continued to provide an office and associated support to the Program Manager. This close association to the ILM Program has allowed ConocoPhillips to proactively pilot some of the new approaches and best management practices being promoted under the ILM Program, aimed at reducing the size, duration and intensity of industrial footprints through collaboration among industrial land users.
