Building a Presence for Science

In cooperation with The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), Building a Presence for Science is ExxonMobil’s signature science education program.

Started in 1996, the goal of this program is to prepare at least one science teacher in every school in target states to be knowledgeable in the National Science Education Standards and relevant state standards. This teacher serves as a point-of-contact for their school, working with key leaders and statewide coordinators to develop appropriate professional development sessions focused on the Science Standards for teacher colleagues and administrators.

The NSTA directs this program.
