Protecting Biodiversity

ExxonMobil assists employees in finding ways to demonstrate their strong personal commitment to habitat restoration, species protection, and biodiversity education.

In Wyoming, employees and their families volunteered to help build a winter home for the endangered Colorado River cutthroat trout. The Wildlife Habitat Council was our partner. In Fife, Scotland, the construction of a wetlands pond is providing an additional home for plants and animals and is a great learning opportunity for the local community.

In Wakayama, Japan, employees have organized an Orange Orchard Patrol that monitors for signs that our operations might impact the trees. So far no impact has been found.

In Adelaide, Australia, refinery employees joined with environmental groups to form the Friends of Port Stanvac to conserve native coastal vegetation.
