Unocal Thailand employees and their families participate in company-sponsored projects such as tree planting, providing supplies for schools and summer programs in marine ecology for college students. In late 2000, Unocal provided financial aid to families affected by the severe rains and flooding that devastated Hat Yai and other areas of Songkhla province. Company helicopters, trucks, boats and emergency teams assisted with evacuations and distributed food and medicine.
