Qualifications:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in a quantitative field with 3+ years of experience in a quantitative environment.
- Requires experience in statistical techniques including regression analysis and/or time series analysis with proven abilities with statistical software packages, databases, and spreadsheet programs, such as Excel, and MS Access. Experience with SAS is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative and team oriented environment.
- Understanding of the dynamics of petroleum supply and demand highly desirable.
- Requires adeptness in handling large amounts of information accurately and the ability to work well within tight deadlines.
- Must have the ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
Essential Functions:
- Work together with the Weekly Statistical Bulletin production team and serve as rotating team coordinator as needed, take full or shared responsibility for other surveys as needed (such as the monthly NGL inventory report or Import/Export reports).
- Contribute analysis to the Monthly Statistical Report, help prepare statistical materials for API’s Educational Advocacy team, web pages and outreach.
- Perform all work on Safety and Toxic Release Inventory reports for the Educational Advocacy team.
- Perform analyses using statistical/quantitative techniques to improve the estimates, identify questionable data, compare our data with other data sources, and track response rates. Use various data sources and statistical techniques to estimate additional series needed to produce monthly supply/demand balances for the Monthly Statistical Report.
- Work with our voluntary respondents to encourage accurate and timely reporting; respond to basic questions from data users on how the surveys are conducted.
- Serve as an information resource to API staff, member company representative, and others on assigned areas.
